Few crafts projects are more traditional at Christmastime than making a paper snowflake to adorn a Christmas tree. Kids love it and it calls on a child’s creativity in making shapes and builds on their eye-hand coordination. Enjoy making these paper snowflakes with your kids. Here are the steps.
Use blue and white construction paper at 8.5 x 11. Put the two pieces of paper together and then place cup near the corner.
Draw a circle, using the cup as your guide.
Cut out the circle, making sure to cutting along both sheets of paper.
Fold the cut circle in half. Then fold it again. It should look a bit like a little fan.
Begin cutting small triangles and various shapes, and the cut the pointed edges so the snowflake will have a rounded shape when unfolded.
Turn one the white or blue snowflake so that it’ll be offset against the other to allow both colors to show through.
Tie a ribbon along one of the holes and you’re set to hang your snowflake.
