Hello Make It and Love It readers! It’s Emma from Crafting{E} again and I am so excited to show you the project I have today! Today I am sharing this adorable DIY Gratitude Jar. And I have good news; all of the printables for this jar are available for free download at the end of this post.

Gratitude is such an important thing. It might seem cliché, but I have found that gratitude plays a huge role in success and happiness. I love the quote on the front of this journal jar. The quote says “The secret to having it all is knowing you already do”. So true, right?!

The idea behind this jar is that each day you fill out one of the little strips of paper. The strips have a place for the date you are filling it out on and a place to write three things you are grateful for that day. It is also perfect for when you don’t have a good day, you can unroll one of these papers and remember things you are grateful for.

So cute, right? This would be a perfect activity to make with kids to help teach them the importance of gratitude in their lives! This is also a great “unofficial” journal. I am personally not a huge traditional journal writer. I prefer to document my life through pictures and my gratitude journal or jar. It’s so fun to look back and see what you were grateful for on a specific day.

Also, this is so easy to make! All you need is a jar and the files for the Journal Jar. Oh, and some tape too to secure the paper strips.

  • Jar (I found mine at the dollar store a few years ago, but now most stores carry jars similar to this one)
  • Cute paper tape
  • Journal Jar files (you can download and print them for free at the end of this post!)
  • Double sided tape or glue

  • First, print out the files for the journal jar  (you can download and print the files at the end of this post).

  • Now, cut out each of the designs.

  • Next, attach the quote to the front of the jar using double sided tape

  • Now, each day fill out one of the slips of gratitude paper.

  • Once you fill out the paper, roll it up and secure it with a piece of tape.
